An Amateur Taking a Crack at the Open

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play from the tips at a US Open layout with cameras and gallery? Me too. Do you think that you would break 100 in that situation? Tiger Woods doesn't think so and, quite frankly, neither do I. But, NBC and the USGA are banking on the fact that some amateur will and that you'll be dying to see it.

Larry Dorman (formerly of Callaway Golf, by the way) writes in the NY Times about the TV special that will air before the final round at Torrey Pines this year. I would go through the excruciating details, but Geoff Shackelford has done the legwork for me. Assume a couple of other jokes from me and laugh accordingly (not at all).
