Fall Series Validation?...YES?!

NEWSFLASH: Phil Mickelson is playing in a Fall Series event! Repeat: Phil Mickelson is playing in a Fall Series event!

Lefty will be in the field for the Fry's Electronics Open that begins on Thursday in Scottsdale. This event is not to be confused with last week's Fry's.com Open. Completely different. That's building brand equity through repetition or something like that.

It is the second event this year in Scottsdale - the FBR Open wass the other. The Thunderbirds are hosting this event as well. It will be played at Grayhawk's Raptor Course - host of the Accenture World Championship of Golf (What?!) from 1995-97. It's a Fazio. (Crud.) I did not know this until checking out the Grayhawk website, but a course cannot host two PGA Tour sanctioned events in the same season and that is why TPC Scottsdale is not the host of this event.

This field is probably the best yet for the Fall Series and that is likely due to the fact that many players live in and near Scottsdale. Badds and Calc will be there. Knost will be making attempt 3 to get into the top 125. He currently sits at around 239.
