Tournament of Champions is Dead; Full Field Instead

Alabama will have a two week LPGA Tour swing starting next season according to this report in the Press-Register.

The select-field Tournament of Champions, which just ended on Sunday with Paula Creamer as the victor, will be replaced with a $1.5 million full-field event, beginning next year on Sept. 11-14.
So, why not done yet and still listed as TBA on the schedule? Quite elementary...
"We have to meet with the principal sponsor and get him to sign on the dotted line," said David Bronner, the CEO of the Retirement Systems of Alabama and brainchild of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, which is the host for two LPGA tournaments.

"It's been difficult to finish because they've been in Europe. We hope to have it done in the next two weeks, hopefully before Thanksgiving, and then make a formal announcement."
Who's the title sponsor that is stuck in Europe?
Bronner declined to identify the title sponsor other than to say it is "a big-name company" that does business in 22 countries.

That's one TBA down and a few to go.
