Top 125 Losers

You can read about the guys who actually stayed in the top 125 elsewhere. I wanted to point out just how fickle golf is by showing you the guys who DIDN'T get into the top 125. Some will still have full status next year because of other exemptions, but most will not.

126. Ben Curtis - exempt on the back of the Open Championship win and two 2006 wins (all told, exempt through 2008)
127. Ted Purdy - former winning of the Byron Nelson (2005), not exempt
129. Joe Durant - the guy set a scoring record, darn it! (The Hope) But, exempt from a win last year at Disney.
151. Corey Pavin - winner last year, goes south this year.

Some others to think about: Eric Axley, Lee Janzen, Chris Riley, Joey Sindelar, Ben Crane

Just to give you some perspective, though, Nick Flanagan had 4 starts in the Fall Series to capture $122,029, for about $30,000 per start. He needed $785,180 to hit 125. Given a normal season's load, he would have had no problem getting his card. AND he had to wait a month after the Playoffs. Quite a year for this kid. (Kid? He's my age!)
