Jim Vernon-Walter Driver-USGA Update

I will happily send you over to Geoff Shackelford's site for this update from his USGA sources (employees, probably). Here's the teaser: Walter Driver actually was trying to get an unprecedented third term as USGA President before the Nominating Committee chair Trey Holland ultimately went with Jim Vernon.

AND once Driver realized he could not be el presidente again, he was pulling for a less experienced executive committee member - from Augusta National, of course.

AND that Driver may still yet seek to nominate himself when he chairs the nominating committee in a few years.

UPDATE: I didn't get around to posting the link to this and I cannot find it now, but in sum, if you go over to Geoff Shackelford's site you will find a refute email of the initial information provided to Geoff. It doesn't necessarily refute the insider that provided Geoff with the information, but it is important to remain balanced and truthful. Check it out.
