Nicklaus Dual Point Driver
I was fortunate enough to receive a Nicklaus Dual Point driver just last week to test. I took it to the range last night and I have to tell you that I was very impressed with it. The clubhead has a very chic design - largely black, with some metallic and rust colors on the underbelly of the head. The central part of the clubface has no grooves and the outside of the face has some so as to inspire spin that will provide forgiveness and get the ball back to the fairway.
The club I received has a stiff shaft and a nine degree loft on it. I was crushing it! The pop off of the clubface is fantastic - that MOI is really strong. I normally hit the ball anywhere between 265 and 290 yards with my driver. Last night, I was hitting it straight, with a nice draw shape, between 280 and 300 yards without any swing change. I was very pleased.
Over the history of The 19th Hole and GNN, I've been fortunate enough to receive a number of clubs to try. This Nicklaus driver proves again that there are some tremendous clubs made in the world by companies that you don't necessarily first think of for equipment purchases. Nicklaus, Adams, MacGregor, and others - some once very dominate - are making technological strides and not too many people are taking notice. The next time you make a club purchase, though, I encourage you to expand your list of possible manufacturers because you may find equipment that suits you better than you could ever expect.
