Don't Do It, Tadd!

Doug Ferguson of the AP and a host of other golf writers have penned columns urging Tadd Fujiakwa to not pull a Ty Tryon and raise expectations concerning his pro golf potential because of his T20 at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Of course, this is all part of the media's self-designated responsibility as conscience on a host of matters from politics to sports. That's not to say that the point should not be made early and often to this young man. He may have just finished T20 in a PGA Tour event, but he has to go to school tomorrow. And I'm not even sure he can drive yet. So, let's make the point is not lost on him, his friends, family and parents. Visions of grandeur have done much worse things, but it would be sad if Tadd became another victim of unwarranted expectations.
